THIS PLACE IS UNBELIEVABLE
The views of the snow capped Himalayas is breathtaking. The rice fields that sit atop the edges of steep mountains leave you shaking your head.
That's all before even setting foot on soil.
Once we landed the weather was about 25 degrees with no humidity (unlike Bangkok)
I will never forget the excitement and wonder expressed by the boys and girls as we travelled about 40mins/ 15klms to our Accomodation in the heart of Kathmandu and the systems the Nepalese have adopted on the roads. It's like you see in movies and online with passengers in their dozens on the tops of overcrowded buses, bikes, cars. Buses and pedestrians all share the roads and by share I mean they all weave in and out with a hand or finger testing on the horn. The horns here used to let others know of your proximity to them, it's not used in anger.
Once we arrived at our accommodation Manang hotel, most of us ventured out into the city prior to meeting for dinner.
Tomorrow we venture out to the village where we will meet the communities that we'll be working alongside in the southeast of the city. 40klm can also take from 1.5 - 4 hours to commute.
